Argentina is the livestock country par excellence in South America. Although cattle is strongly predominant in the humid Pampa, it is raised in all areas of the country, with different breeds and crosses: Aberdeen Angus and Heredford, Brangus (Aberdeen and Brahman cross), Criollo cattle. Cattle in Argentina are raised extensively, they feed naturally on pasture, walk permanently over large areas and fattening takes two years. Unlike the Feed Lot applied in other countries in the region, this method means that when they are slaughtered, the cows have long tails (20 – 30 cm.) and the hair is very strong.
